Quality, functionality and a sense of well-being \u2013 the concept of the brand, whose origins date back to 1774, works well.\u00a0<\/b><\/p><p><b>Today the former family business in its sixth generation employs more than 5,500 people and has expanded its product range, which, in addition to its world-famous sandals comprises orthopaedic special products, socks, bags and belts, to include sleep systems and natural cosmetics.<\/b><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-71948ab9 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"71948ab9\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Since February 2021 BIRKENSTOCK has been majority-owned by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lcatterton.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b><u>L Catterton<\/u><\/b><\/a>, the world\u2019s largest growth investor with a focus on consumer goods industries, and the holding company\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.financiereagache-finance.com\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b><u>Financi\u00e8re Agache<\/u><\/b><\/a>\u00a0owned by Arnault, the French billionaire family, which also holds a 97.5% stake in Christian Dior and is the majority shareholder of the world\u2019s leading luxury group LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton.<br \/><br \/><\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>What prompted BIRKENSTOCK, a traditional family business, to make this decision?<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-07620b8 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"07620b8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2>Major partners, bold steps and a new course for the future<\/h2>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4d5182e7 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4d5182e7\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>While details of the contractual agreement were not disclosed, heirs Christian and Alexander Birkenstock and their management team only entered into partnership with L Catterton and Financi\u00e8re Agache in 2021 following careful examination of all the options \u2013 and thus took a giant step for the 250-year-old company. \u201cWe need partners for the next 250 years who share the same strategic and long-term vision as the Birkenstock family: we have found such partners in L Catterton and Financi\u00e8re Agache. They bring both a deep understanding of the details of a product company, where quality is paramount, and a respect for brands with a long heritage like ours\u201d, say the two brothers. The agreement meant the sale of the majority of the shares, but they remain as minority shareholders.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d169b26 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d169b26\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The aim of the partnership is to accelerate the growth of markets in China and India and to further strengthen BIRKENSTOCK\u2019s leading market position in Europe and America \u2013 primarily via investments and the expansion of production, logistics and distribution.
